Rave: Pinterest, Yes I do have a problem

ImageAm I the only one that is super happy and obsessed with Pinterest?  By the looks at how it is gaining poularity so fast, I don’t think so.  It’s become an obsession of mine and I don’t plan on stopping any time soon.

When I first heard of Pinterest months ago, of course like many, it was through Facebook.  I went to the link and it asked me to fill out a form so I could be “invited”.  I thought it was pretty dumb at first, to be honest.  Then once I was in, I couldn’t figure out how to work the darn thing.  Boards?  What are boards and why would I want one?  What does “pinning” actually mean?  Are these just pictures of stuff or was there more?

I did my famous Google search and started reading about Pinterest and how to use it.  I slowly started to add recipes to a “board” of mine, thinking it was a great way to organize recipes that I might want to refer to later.  One board turned into two, three…and so forth…a monster was born.

Now I have 41 boards and over 1100 pins (as of 1pm today…check me back later for a new total).  I love discovering new recipes, travel ideas, books, yoga positions, people etc.  I also love my “show off” boards, as I call them….just letting the world know of my many other obsessions such as Adam Levine, Harry Potter, Real Housewives, Asian architecture and more.  It’s also a place where I can go back and look at them over and over when I’m bored as hell.

Statistics show that since it’s inception in 2009, Pinterest has seen a growth of 900 percent.  Yes, folks…that is 900 percent!  Its currently in third in popularity to Facebook and Twitter and before long will surpass them I am sure.  Am I crazy?  I’m relieved to say definitely not!
